Is Your Immune System Crashing Because Of Exercise And Diet?

Exercise too hard too frequently and your immune system will come crashing down. After all, too much stress in the form of exercise will prevent your immune system from regenerating.

On the other hand, if you don’t exercise within your natural limits you won’t get results.

So here are 6 ways to keep your immune system strong during intense exercise:

1. Avoid stressing over minutiae: Stress has a direct impact on your immune system, don’t assume that it stays in your head. Thus, a great way to allow your immune system to work at full capacity is to eliminate all the little stressors that are nagging away at your mental health.

2. Don’t eliminate food groups: This is horrible for your performance and your health. For the strongest immunity possible you need to get as many nutrients as possible from your diet. So make sure you diet is balanced with a wide variety of foods.

3. Get quality sleep: Lying in bed for eight hours doesn’t necessarily mean you are well rested. You need to make sure that those eight hours are deep sleep. The best way to get good sleep is to simply wake up at the same time everyday no matter what.

4. Lose fat at a slow and steady pace: If you lose too much fat in a short period of time, your body will give up a lot of muscle in the process. Even worse, you will wreak havoc on your immune system. And all it takes is one bout of sickness to derail you for weeks.

5. Don’t be afraid of carbs: Without carbs in your diet will never be able to recovery properly from exercise. So make sure you don’t take them out of your diet. Specifically, make sure you have ample carbs before and after exercise to minimize the impact of stress hormones.

6. Don’t train when you are getting sick: If you feel the symptoms creeping up on you, stop all training and ramp up caloric intake. This will help your body recover faster and will keep you from having to stop training for weeks on end.

Keeping you immune system strong when exercising is a great way to stay on board your fitness program without interruption. So take action here sooner rather than later, because later usually never comes!
